Chapter 7 - ***Elena’s P.O.V*** Ugh, that was the worst meeting of my life! I can’t believe that all my useful talents are being put towards babysitting Chester See. This is madness. I head to the library and see my friends sitting around a large table, probably starting next week’s homework. Oh shoot, I forgot to pick that up. I go over and sit down next to my best friend, Emma. I’ve known Emma since we were 5 years old, and we’ve been inseparable ever since. “So Elena, how was the meeting? Are you in trouble? Are you okay?” Emma askes me. “Yes Emma, I’m fine. The meeting was just about, um, about how well I was doing in school, and if I had already started thinking about colleges that I want to attend?” I am such an awful liar. I’ve never really lied before! But Emma seemed to buy it. “That’s great Elena! You had me worried there for a minute!” and she turned back to her work. I sat there in silence, still astonished that I seriously had to date Chester See for 6 weeks. Does the Vice Principal really expect me to have a true relationship with Chester? But I'm here now and hopefully you will enjoy: Chapter 6 - ***Chester’s P.O.V*** The bell signaling break just rang, and I began my walk out to the track, where hopefully my friends will be waiting there with some weed or beer. I’m exhausted. I get to the track and find Ryan sitting there with my other friends Andrew, Dom, Victor, and J.R.. Thankfully, someone brought a six-pack. I pick one up and take a big sip of it. Aaaah, sweet relief. “Man, where’ve you been?” Andrew asks me, “We’ve been out here like, all morning.” “Dude, I told you earlier, I had a meeting with the Vice Principal.” I said. Andrew belched loudly, and we all laughed. “So how was it? The meeting thing?” Ryan asks me. “It was…” I paused, I couldn’t tell them about Elena, they would either think I was kidding or laugh. “It was weird.” I said finally. “We just talked about how bad of a person I am and then they threatened to expel me, and then I left.” Nobody said anything for a while, we all just sat there and drank our beer. Well, except for me. I couldn’t take my mind off of Elena. I have to date her, for 6 weeks? This is madness. I wonder if she’s going to tell any of her friends about the meeting. Chapter 5 - ***Chester’s P.O.V*** I can’t believe she’s actually going to ‘date’ me! I actually laughed out loud. “What’s so funny,” Elena asked me, her eyebrows raising, “If we are going to be in this relationship, you need to respect my decisions, especially when they concern you!” I stopped laughing. Wow, so this is what my next 6 weeks are going to be like. I glared at her, and she glared back. “Well, this meeting is now over, so get to class you two.” The Vice Principal says standing up and leaving the room. My teachers follow behind him. Elena is picking up her bag and turning to leave when I grab her arm. “Listen chica, nobody wants to be in the relationship any less than I do, so here’s the plan. We aren’t gonna tell anyone about this. Everyone will think that we’re still single, and our lives will be just like they were. Understand?” I look at her for a long time. Her eyes are really pretty. “Get your hand off me creep,” she says and jerks away from my grip, “I accept your statement, we will tell nobody. And actually, there’s one person who wants to be in this relationship less than you, and that’s me.” She turns on her heel and walks quickly away. Chapter 4 - ***Elena’s P.O.V*** I walked into the room and see my 6 teachers, the Vice Principal, and, oh no, Chester See. What’s he doing here? He’s probably the most annoying person I’ve ever met. He cuts class like every day, he’s disrespectful to everyone, he does drugs at every opportunity, he never does is homework, and he thinks he’s this Greek Adonis that every girl want to date. Well, every girl except me. He disgusts me. I wonder what he’s doing here. “Um, hello,” I say timidly, “I think I might have the wrong room…” “Oh no Elena! You’re in the right place, come in and take a seat next to Mr. See. I would like to have a discussion with you both.” The Vice Principal said, and I froze. “I don’t do drugs!” I cry out. Nobody speaks, then everyone bursts out laughing. “Why on earth would we thing you would do drugs?” the Vice Principal says finally, wiping a tear from his eye. I smiled a little, then I carefully sat down next to Chester. I could feel him staring at me, and it was creeping me out. “Elena, as you probably know, Mr. See is one of the worst students at this school, and we need your help to try and fix him.” The Vice Principal started, and I was puzzled. “I’m sorry sir, but I’m really not sure what I could do to help,” I say. “Oh, but there is so much you can do,” the Vice Principal continues, “We had several schemes that you could help with, one involving locking you and him in a room together for several days, but we knew your mother would never consent to that. So we decided on the following; you and Chester are to have a real relationship, lasting 6 weeks, and hopefully Chester will learn something from you.” The Vice Principal sat back and smiled. My jaw dropped. Be in a relationship… with Chester See?! For 6 weeks?! But, then again, the Vice Principal said that Chester might learn something from me, and that would be amazing if he would stop acting like he always does. But 6 weeks? That’s a long time. Chapter 3 – ***Chester’s P.O.V.*** Before I could even get to the door, the Vice Principal came out. “Hello Mr. See. We are going to have our meeting in someplace different today. Follow me.” I didn’t complain. I hated the office. It was so bright and sanitary, ugh who likes living like that? We walked for what seemed like forever; past the library, the gym, and the science lab located all the way at the other side of campus. We finally stopped at a small building that smelt like chalk. Must’ve been a supply closet. There were nine chairs placed around a long oval table. Six of them were filled with my teachers. One was filled with the Vice Principal. I sat down in the one farthest away from him. But there was one empty seat next to me, and I wondered who it was for. Maybe for my mom or something. I sat back in the chair and looked at all my teachers. You could tell they were all nervous. About what, I didn’t know. Then my Vice Principal cleared his throat. “Mr. See, it has come to out attention that you are probably the biggest troublemaker in the history of this school.” I smiled, “And what an honor it is to make your lives suck a little more each day.” I replied shortly. Three of my teachers gasped. The Vice Principal continued, “We’ve all realized that any action that we are using to try and make you a better person, hasn’t worked. So we are implementing a new procedure. For the next 6 weeks, you will be in a relationship with the most wonderful student this school has. She should be here soon, and you can meet her. I want you to have an actual relationship with her, and maybe you can learn something about manners from her.” My face remained expressionless. But my inside was flipping out. What the heck? I’m being forced to be with this chick for 6 weeks!? Obviously, the Vice Principal doesn’t know what an ‘actual relationship’ is like with me. And I don’t think this girl is up for the getting-drunk-then-having-sex type of relationship. “So where’s this ‘amazing girl’?” I asked. Chapter 2 – ***Elena’s P.O.V*** I wasn’t able to sleep all night. The Vice Principal had called my mom yesterday and said that he wanted to have a meeting with me this morning. I finally gave up on getting my 8 hours of sleep and got up. My parents had probably left for work, it was already 4:30am. I took a shower, trying to wash away my fears. What had I done wrong? Why did the Vice Principal want to have a meeting with me? It didn’t sound like I had won an award or anything, it sounded really serious. Had I accidentally littered? Did I leave eraser shavings on my desk after class? I couldn’t figure it out. The cold water now coming out of the shower head told me I had been in there for too long and that I should get out. Also that there would be no hot water for my younger brother when he woke up. When I came back into my room to get dressed, the clock read 5:30am. Had I really been in the shower for an hour?! I’m losing my mind. Maybe that’s why the Vice Principal wants to have a meeting with me. I put on some sweats and wrap my hair up in a towel and head downstairs to get some breakfast. I see my parents had left the TV on, again. I was just about to turn it off when a story caught my attention. "And in other news a local drug dealer named Colin Nikelsen, or as they call him on the street, 'Chan', has been arrested early this morning for being caught illegally selling pot to minors. We don't know how long he's been doing this, or if there are any drug dealers left in town, but rest assured, the police department is doing all that they can to keep the town of Priora safe." Then the news ended. I became a little afraid. Drug dealers... In my town? This town had always been a safe haven for me... I had never known about the use of drugs here. I hope the Vice Principal doesn't think I use them. Maybe that's why he wants to see me today. Maybe he thinks I'm using drugs! Oh my gosh, then this all is a big misunderstanding! Chapter 1 – ***Chester’s P.O.V*** The sun shined through my curtains. I groaned. Another day at high school. Yay. Another day of teachers hounding me, girls practically ripping me clothes off, and the Vice Principal looking for some way to suspend me. I drag myself out of bed, throw on some pants and some shoes, grab my backpack, not bothering to check and see what’s in it, and head down stairs to get some breakfast. My mom was standing at the kitchen, flipping 3 pancakes onto a plate for me. “Good morning Chester,” she says cheerily, “Don’t forget you have a meeting with Vice Principal this morning.” “That’s fabulous,” I say sarcastically, “Let’s see how long I’ll get suspended this time.” My mom doesn’t respond. She just pours some syrup on my pancakes. I eat them and head out the door to start my short walk to school. The air around me is warm, which is odd seeing as it’s January. I reach the back entrance of my school, which is basically a tall fence with a hole in it, kick my foot into the hole to make it a little wider so that I can go through it, and enter the campus. I saw my friends sitting by the gym and walked over to them. “What’s up guys?” I say to them, knowing I wouldn’t get a response. To my surprise, I did. “Dude, where were you last night? The party was killer!” my friend Ryan asked. You could tell he was still drunk. “Man, I was grounded, you knew that!” I say plopping down next to him, “My parents made me study ‘cause my grades are dropping, you know?” I continue, “I just don’t get what their deal is! It’s the second semester, it’s not like I’m going to be able change them or anything.” Ryan didn’t respond right away. “Bro,” Ryan said slowly, “Do you think I can eat this?” he pointed at half a shoelace. “I’m starved!” I opened my backpack and found a half eaten bag of hot Cheetos. I threw them at him. “Thanks.” He said and opened it.
