Three pictures back I vented a little about my princess. I never responded to your heartfelt caring and concerned responses which isn't like me. I was feeling so overwhelmed about it all and was finding it hard to find the words. But reading your comments helped me SO much and I still will probably be coming to some of you loving souls for advice. In the meantime, thank you thank you thank you. I have said it before, the support system here on IG is incredible. I'm forever grateful. /// Update on Maia: since finding out about her severe underbite, there has finally been some progress. We found out that she will be seen June 11th at a national research hospital by a "team" of doctors in an appointment that is supposed to take 4 hours. Her daddy and I have had time to let all this set in and we are feeling a bit better about where we are heading. Prayer is amazing. God is good.
I just read your other post. It really stinks when they say your child needs surgery, but I pray that they will be able to fix everything at once and that she will heal quickly. I know what it's like to have one condition cause other conditions. It seems like as if you don't have enough to worry about already all these other things pop up. I will be praying for you guys!

I think it's the bumps in the road that makes your heart stronger and faith bigger. My husband and I had a meeting with an orthodontist yesterday. Our daughter has JRA and hyper-extensive joints which has contributed to her severe underbite. We learned yesterday that it's severe enough a head brace or face mask will not help and that surgery of the jaw is about the only option. We are on our way to get several other opinions. One from her pediatric dentist, another orthodontist, oral surgeon and her rheumatologist. We also learned last week that she's experiencing speech difficulties (weakness in her tongue because she doesn't have the needed space in her top palette to speak correctly). So much to take in and process. I know this info isn't pertinent to most of you but I wanted to share in hopes that someone may have some advice. This orthodontist has never seen an underbite so severe so we want to find a doctor who has had experience. I know surgery is just about the best option to reset her jaw but advice and guidance from the best sources is always best. I think we are going down the right road with lots of doctors already but you just never know when experiences will collide. She's so strong. I think it pains me much more than her. Kids are resilient but I still wish I could have this done for her. If I could I would. In a heartbeat.
She has a beautiful smile now, she'll have a beautiful smile no matter the decision your family makes. Prayers and the best wishes for finding the right answer for your lovely little lady. β‘

#rightnow #fromwhereisit in my comfy little spot with my computer and lovely little cards from my sweet family. Oh, and Starbucks delivered by hubby. Haven't done anything big today for my day but that's how I wanted it. A lazy day where I don't feel an ounce of guilt for being so. I actually haven't been online in ages just for the heck of it. And the first thing I read was a blog entry titled, "In Defense of the IPhone Mom". I think it was written for me. You mommas would appreciate it like I do.
Basically she says it's ok to be an iPhone mom because we need to teach our kids independent play at times and we, as human beings, need a way to communicate and share our thoughts. If you are like me, you don't see other grown-ups very often, at least not long enough to have an adult conversation. Having an outlet, whether it be #instagram or #blogging or joining other online communities, can be the one piece of the puzzle we need to remind us we still are who we were before kids...women with thoughts and a need to be a part of the outside world. We had to say bye today to Millie whom we pet-sat for a week while her owners went on vacation. Millie was such a fun addition to our family for the week. Even hubby liked her. I have a feeling our house hasn't seen the last of some sort of squeaky adorable rodent. :)
Lol so cute! What is Millie? Whatever she is check your local shelter if you're thinking of getting one - chances are they have one for adoption! Our shelter always has guinea pigs, rabbits, birds and some sort of fish/amphibian needing a home.
@kgleaf she's a guinea. I definitely would go shelter before anything else! All my fur-babies are shelter or were brought to a vet office needing a home. You should take a peek at Millie a few pics up in my feed. She's pretty cute π
