Held hands and half-closed eyes. Spent the night here again. Can’t sleep. We watched the sun rise through her hospital room window while she slept. With all chairs taken, I sat on the floor and drew a sea on a styrofoam cup. A steady sea for her to safely sail away on.

It was that type of good. That type of feeling and hearing, moving and shouting. Dancing until your feet hurt but not caring cause no one is caring. Everyone around you is moving and you're all a part of the same thing. And in that then, you get lost. In finding yourself in finding that moment, you get completely and perfectly lost.

At times you're far from observant. So much so even the obvious doesn't always register. But then there are flicker times. Moments that catch you, that hold you. You turn and see buildings and the sight awes you. The sight of something you know so many see everyday, walk past everyday, but today you're not so many. And today you are observant. Because today holds this moment that holds this you. And in that then, you were meant to feel that awe.
The world through @tylercostello 's eyes is always beautiful and full of wonder. <3

This is you, and you forget things can be simple. Things can be just what they are. You raise your hands and cover your eyes. You squeeze them shut tight and tell yourself things are just what they are. You edge yourself along the wall and into the outside. You repeat it, "just what you are, just what you are, just," and when you feel the width of warmth of sunlight stretch over you, you pull your arms back with intake of breath, and black becomes a height of blue. Colors streak in sudden and salient and slip past their objects, streaking the clouds and corners and sky edged around. And with a smile, you finish, "what you are."

Eventually this will become a "remember that time when" and I will be happy with that, because it will fade but it will still be a part of me, the same as every moment is a part of every person who steps and breathes and lives in those minutes they have.

Flitting thoughts come and go and fray at the edges, keeping just out of reach but always within sight. It can feel fairly fine meets melancholic. And then you come across something. Something like two people dancing. And that's all you need.

That day we walked through the field and you leaned down before the dark oak to run your hand through the tall grass, dried and golden, between your fingers. You smiled at the moment, because it wasn't yours and it wasn't mine but it was life's. Yet we still had it and here your breath and being and the sound of the grass beneath our feet was proof.

Walking, pushing forward, I want to tell you, I think I was wrong. I think we're all wrong. We reach out, hands feeling the air, eyes wandering the ground, looking for the path. Taking warmth in the idea that one must exist for us each. Comfort in clarity. But perhaps it is on the clean path we try to follow that we stumble over wrong. Because if it's already cleared, is it ours? Perhaps our paths don't exist for us. Perhaps they exist because of us. Clarity in creating.
