@rubicorno This is such an amazing abandoned, but unfortunately guarded, building. It sits high on the bluffs looking out over the river. It was a house I had on our historic tour last year. @shontellemoiselle Your jail story brought back memories of the many times I've had to raise bail to get you out. If you want to get locked into Bergdorfs, leave the foil wrapped metallic candy at home. The sound of foil candy wrapping catches their ear everytime. Also avoid hard boiled eggs, as the sound of egg shell being cracked open is a surefire way to alert even the most neglectful security guards. Next time bring marshmallows or a banana to snack on while concealing yourself in a public bathroom stall. Or consider fortifying yourself with a meal of metallic candy at home, BEFORE you leave for Bergdorfs. Yet another simple, but elegant solution to life's challenges.

Thank you Gilles! We have just a few of these stone houses left here. They are from around 1830 or so. It seems that the earlier styles reference European influence in a beautiful way. At one time, much of this town looked like this charming home. One could buy this empty home for a low price, but unfortunately it is not in a very safe area. It's one of my favorites. Wish I could pick it up and put it elsewhere.

This week I'm researching each home in order to compose house histories for each of the 9 sites on our tour. I'll produce a catalogue of these places, 7 private homes, 1 church, and the strange little Victorian playhouse I have shot and posted several times here on IG. It has been exhausting, but enjoyable! I can't wait to SLEEP when it is all done! By the way, I like your new profile photo. It is like you are in the middle of a tumultuous storm, but with a parting of the clouds promising sun and clarity.
