This is very Chinese: a tattered chair reused by some lone security guard... They are usually teenagers who don't even fill up the uniforms they're given. Poor pay (120€ a month) 12 hours a day with terrible winters, and scorching summers, poor food and worst above all: contempt and rudeness coming from everyone else that may be higher on the social echelons... Welcome to a new #hutong series shot. I wandered into a #courtyard today and bumped into this fella chillin' at his #trash collection point... Recycling is in principle good.. In #beijing there are thousands of these places where poor people sell whatever recyclable items they find: 10cents of a Yuan (Chinese currency) per plastic bottle, 30 cents per can, cardboard boxes and metal scrap are favorites too. There are lots of illegal trash collection points since the authorities didn't plan for the amount of people and trash in #urban centers. Whatever is rejected is then burned or fed to the pigs. This is beautiful- so romantic looking (though I've been to many places in the world that look beautiful but what a picture can't portray sometimes is the smells and the large amounts of people and the cut up cow head on the sidewalk with flies all over it! Electricity counters #Beijing #hutong / #courtyard series. Each one of them represents a family living inside of a hutong that was originally meant for maybe 1 or 2 families... Increase of population did the rest. Usually these old households have no water, heating or toilet so if you don't have money to refurbish them they are too rough to live in during #winter. But they are awesome for Summer #light#IG#Instagramer#Igers#Instadaily#Instamood

#lion head detail on one of the 300+ enormous bronze vases distributed around the #forbiddencity . Their function was to hold a lot of water just in case one of the pavilions caught fire. During winter they would cover them with cloth and light up fires around them just to keep the water liquid at all times. #Beijing#metal#light#IG#Instagramer#Igers#Instadaily#Instamood

East side road in #Singapore . I had a marvelous day around the #beach .
