Tonight I got to visit with my bestie from high school, Amber (or "Amba", as I call her with my accent). She's in town from Michigan for the week for her niece's graduation, so I managed to rearrange other plans to go catch up with her. And although we talk on a fairly-regular basis, it's just not the same as talking in person. I wouldn't miss seeing her for the world. <3

I've gone through this twice so far with different dogs. Never ever ever let your guard down between them. I've gone 8 months with my two being fine and then literally out of nowhere, they were snuggling, one got up and walked away and the other attacked her so bad for no reason. It's a horrible horrible thing. 😪 Just be VERY careful!

Now that I've delivered this I can finally post a picture! This was my latest project- @mobaum's birthday present. She wanted me to cross stitch her something (anything). I came up with this design based on her current situation. Monica has lived in Arizona her whole life & absolutely loves the state (she even has it tattooed, along with the state flag, on her arm). She's also a lesbian & has a beautiful baby boy with her wife @jennbaumbach, as well as there being another baby on the way. Unfortunately in Arizona, neither their marriage nor their parental rights are recognized. For that reason, Mo & Jenn are moving to California in a few months so that they can both adopt each other's birth-children & be recognized as the *real* family that they are. I made this to not only honour the struggle that they're currently going through, but to also remind them of their home when they leave. I will miss them *so* much. Why can't the government in Arizona see that they're forcing incredible people to leave the state due to their archaic stance on important LGBTQ issues?

@alyleibow found Zelda's brother from another mother! This is @rangerthecorgi (on the left)- he's a Cardigan Welsh Corgi mix. Besides the difference in size, they could be twins!

I went shopping for a couple hours, came home, and J has these girls *playing* with each other. I'm in shock- just this morning Zelda wanted to eat Bea. This is so great! There's lots of work still ahead, but this is most definitely a step in the right direction!!
Baby steps. They look so civil in the picture.

Omg I did. Oliver almost walked me into a tree because I kept looking at it. Kk had to take it away from me. I got it the day before I left and didn't take a pic 😕
When I was a vet tech we recommended that too. We had a patient/dog that lost a lot of muscle and skin to an alligator bite. Poor daisy had lots of drains and was practically on pants her entire recovery.

The vet recommended putting a shirt on Bea to stop her drains leaking all over the floor, but I didn't have any dog shirts, so she is borrowing one of mine. A stripey v-neck complete with hood & 1980's knot at the back to keep it tight. Such a stylin' lass!

You'd have thought that by now there would be something better than this for a drain! At least something to catch the juices flowing out. Haha! (P.S. I promise you this looks a lot worse than it is. Bea feels fine & she was just trying to jump around. I had to calm her down so that she doesn't rip her stitches.)
I thought It was a bone at first too. Then I remembered my chihuahua Gwen had the same tube when she was attacked by my lab hallie.

@rangerthecorgi pretty crazy! Zelda is a rescue- she was found on a busy street in the middle of the Phoenix summer at about 6 weeks old. The vet told us she was part pitbull, but we have no idea what else she's mixed with. It makes me wonder if it's part Corgi now! Haha. One of these days we're going to do one of those pet DNA tests just for fun. :)
@leeanndunton Yeah, we adopted Ranger from the pound. Zelda could have Cardigan Corgi in her! The ears and coat shows signs of it :)

Just picked up this little nugget from the vet. She had to have a minor surgery today to drain out the bite on her side. The surgery went great, she's just a little sleepy. I didn't want to post about it until I knew all was well, as the vets were a little worried that more might be wrong. But thankfully it was just bad swelling, and she's gonna be back to running around in no time. P.S. Look at that tongue! She's a nut & I love her. <3
