When I was 15 my family was breaking apart. I chose to belong with bad company and I was around influences which were pulling me down. I was a rebellious kid heading beginning to go down a bad road. I heard about a fight club in Temecula from a guy at my church and I immediately went to go check it out. I fell in love, the sport, the art, it intrigued me like no other. My coaches became like fathers to me. My teammates were like brothers and sisters to me. They were my family and they even opened their homes to me. I lived with one of my teammates and also my coach. I spent every second there training and building relationships. I got to grow so close to my mother everyday as well because she use to go to do fitness classes there. I learned to be respectful, to be submissive, and humble, it got beaten into me literally daily. All I wanted to do was was jiu jitsu and I did. I trained all day and studied technique in books and videos all night. I still was messing up. Still rebelling, not against man but against God. But He changed me! Thank You LORD for totally changing my life and setting me free. HE transformed my heart and broke the chains that bound my life. I was a slave to sin but now Im a slave for Him! But don't get it twisted this is not bondage but true freedom in Him! I'm so blessed to be doing this thing I love and be able to glorify Him in doing so. When I get to help these little kids its so awesome! I get to see that child like faith and joy and laughter in them. I get to see them fall in love with jiu jitsu just like I did! I hope I can be used to be a godly and positive influence on them just like I got to be blessed and have my life changed through the people that loved on me when I first started out! Thank You LORD! :) God is so good and He wants to spend every second with us loving on us like crazy! you should let Him in if you haven't; He'll change your life!
