@punkrawkpurl

although I didn't find many opportunities to shoot this combo this week... it's definitely one of my favorites. great work as correspondent this week sweet Rachel! and this photo... I adore all the textures (this combo is very good to textures). and this composition... makes that little bench just scream for someone to come and sit a spell... watch the world go by! 😍 @rachelwilde

@punkrawkpurl

@rachelwilde all my pleasure dear! always a treat to work with you. and yes indeed... some inspirations in this weeks tag!

@hellarob

I kept trying to find the flash that wouldn't blow my highlights but never did.

@rachelwilde

Thanks @punkrawkpurl you're right, I adore what the combo does to wood and stone and fur!

@omarsant69

👏👏👏 god Job!!! I did not shoot too much but i like the combo a lot, specially the over exposition it delivers

@dragonflyred

Beautiful shot and you are right about the textures ❤

@leighmns

Thank you Rachel for a great week that seriously flew by! Really nice gallery while looking through. still have a few to get in there but I so love this "news papery" combo. Going to keep it set up in my faves for a while! @rachelwilde

@kiwi_nan

I've enjoyed this combo much more than I thought I would. Where I wanted more contrast I was happy with JRx2. I especially liked the way my multiexposures came out using JR.

So do tell… how are you getting on with the combo so far? Got any combo tips, a favorite flash perhaps? Let's discuss the #Mabel (or #Abbie) + #AOBW combo, aka, #HipstaRoll_Week94. And don't forget to add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to your Multi Exposure shots. And to get us started, here is what this week's Hipstaroll Correspondent, Rachel Wilde (@rachelwilde) had to say about the combo: Hello fellow Hipstalovers, it’s good to be back! When shooting this combo my tests were carried out indoors in low light and I absolutely adored the results - surprisingly sharp, bringing texture and life to fabrics and wood and grainy loveliness to portraits. Taking this combo out of doors was a little more challenging, especially when the sun shone. Some of my shots were very washed out and overexposed. I adore the AOBW film but usually use it with a lens like Jane or JohnS, bringing the contrast. Contrast is definitely not Mabel’s strong suit. To help her along I found Jolly Rainbo worked perfectly. But if you’re a bit of a hipsta purist like me....shooting indoors and on overcast days works a treat. PLEASE NOTE:: • NEW photos please. we prefer you to get out and shoot, not add the tag to existing posts. • NO additional filters, crops or edits. • Tag up to 3 photos (not multis) per combo to the main tag. • Tag up to 3 multi-ex photos only to the multi tag. • For faster reply, direct questions to @punkrawkpurl. Have you been Multi-Exposing yourself? Tell us all about it... your experiences, tips, questions on the multi-ex feature. Here is what this week's Correspondent, Rachel Wilde (@rachelwilde) had to say about Multi-Ex in conjunction with this combo: I have to be honest, I never ever use the multi exposure feature in hipstamatic. I played around with it when it was new but not much since then. I scoured the Hipstaroll archives looking for tips and inspiration to help me but I just cannot seem to get the hang of it at all. I stuck with only two exposures as this combo really does make for washed out results and found that using Jolly Rainbo was essential for multi exposure. I tried and tried and tried to get a good shot, and that seems was my downfall. As so many of you have suggested before, as soon as I stopped trying I got something. It’s not great but I got something. Enough to make me want to experiment some more. For this weeks combo please use:: #HipstaRoll_Week94 + #Mabel (or #Abbie) + #AOBW & if you use a flash, tag that too. Shots using this combo + Multi Exposure please add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to the above tags. Hipstaroll is NOT a challenge. It is an ongoing project to encourage trying new Hipstamatic combinations. Through this, we hope to learn a little more about Hipstamatic, our own process, and even about one another's. @rachelwilde

@poppybay thanks lovely Heather...need more practice!😘😘

@rachelwilde

@simirani hey Simran. I found it difficult to get a good shot without the flash on this one! I think the flash works better in bright light with this combo to combat the washed out look. Ate you using your flash on the soft setting?

@simirani

@rachelwilde heyy.. thanks.. yep i use not full flash cos then the shots dont come out well.. 😊 So far jolly rainbo is okay works fine but have u tried any other flashes? 😊

@rachelwilde

I did try out a few flashes. Pop Rox is great also but I'm a big Jolly Rainbo fan when necessary. I'm a bit of a hipsta-purist though so if I can I like to keep the flash to a minimum and seek out the situation that best suits the combo :-)

@rachelwilde

Oops @simirani 👆👆👆👆

@simirani

@rachelwilde lol thats okay.. Yea me too im a hipsta-purist 😊 thank u for the tips really!.. Tried pop rox esp for the orchids ive been trying to capture quite a challenge 😊 will post soon .. 😘😊

@punkrawkpurl

a belated note Rach... I am so happy to hear that you are inspired to experiment more with multis. I think you have a wonderful eye for them and as you mentioned... stop trying and just shoot. once you get more comfortable with the process... it's easier to do a little planning with them. @rachelwilde

@rachelwilde

I'll keep on trying Tammy. I've seen such wonderful work on HR, I need so much more practice! @punkrawkpurl xxx

@hipstaroll
This week we are sliding into the softer side of black and white. When was the last time you opened up a newspaper? Yeah, a newspaper! Remember those things… retelling the world's news via grainy black and white images. You too can shoot like a star reporter with this weeks combo. AO BW, a medium exposure monochrome with a dash o' grain and a pinch o' vignette meets the desaturating Southern [California] charms of Miss Mabel (her old friends know her as Abbie). The result is a little hazy, slightly old timey, and totally newsworthy. Please welcome back Hipstaroll Correspondent, Rachel Wilde (@rachelwilde) Please tag this week's Combo:: #Mabel (or #Abbie) + #AOBW #HipstaRoll_Week94 & if you use a flash, tag that too. Shots using this combo + Multi Exposure please add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to the above tags. It was a bumpy week for those of you who have uploaded any photos via Oggl. As of early last evening, the bugs were exterminated and most everything seems to be working properly again. (NOTE: you will likely have to add tags again to the posts in order for them to work. At least, I had to). And, if you don't know what I am talking about… count yourself lucky that you missed out on the 'excitement'… and rest assured that it is once again safe to swim in the waters of Oggl. Coming back to the real purpose of this post… join me in thanking Leigh (@leighmns) for a ruddy week of grizzled goodness at the Hipstaroll Correspondent desk. It was tricky keeping up with everyone's shots without the use of functioning tags… but being the pro she is, Leigh sought most of ya'll out regardless. It's Thursday, and you know what that means around here... we offer up a post where you can collectively leave feedback/ thoughts/ tips about what you did or didn't like about the combo of the week. So lay it on us.... your praises, rants, raves... let's chat about the #KaimalMarkII + #KodotXGrizzled combo, aka, #HipstaRoll_Week93. So do tell… how are you getting on with the combo so far? Got any combo tips, a favorite flash perhaps? Let's discuss the #KaimalMarkII + #KodotXGrizzled combo, aka, #HipstaRoll_Week93. And don't forget to add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to your Multi Exposure shots. And to get us started, here is what this week's Hipstaroll Correspondent, Lukesh (@leighmns) had to say about the combo: Kaimal Mark II has always been on my list of favorites. Let's give it a warm welcome back as we pair it with the simple, yet raspy Kodot XGrizzled film. Kaimal lends a warm, reddish hue to your prints, and I find it picks up white, yellow and pink perfectly. A favorite spot of mine to break out this lens is at the beach or a view point when the sky is full of fluffy white clouds or the sea grass is swaying in the wind. It puts a smile on my face just thinking about those images. I found that adding Jolly Rainbo 2X flash will not only subdue those red tones but sometimes add a cool purple mask to your snaps. Another fun flash that really caught my eye while shooting was Dreampop. The addition of this on the soft setting will bring out a sweet orange flare in a subtle way for an even more retro feel to your final Hipsta, while complimenting the warm tones of this lens. Kodot XGrizzled's sketchy border may be a bit distracting at times but give it a shot. In the right situation, it can be quite unassuming and you'll hardly notice. Other times its torn up, rough edges will really cause your images to pop right off the camera roll! Kodot won't add any other effects to the print so you can expect to see Kaimal in all its glory. Looking forward to another great week. Shoot what you love, enjoy the gallery and most importantly, have fun! @leighmns

@punkrawkpurl thank you so much Tammy! This shot was actually my favorite from the bunch. I know it's a tough combo to really fall in love with, but I hope everyone is still having a good time. 💗💗💗

@jar_np

Well now, @hipstaroll, what you trying to do to us! Last week Jimmy, this week Kaimal, next week what... Matty? You really are giving us a workout. I decided that the only way to deal with this 'freaky' lens was to look for the abstract and out-of-this-world. What better way to be way out there than with a multi-ex. Nevertheless, still having a really hard time getting anything close to satisfaction! No doubt, Jollyrainbo is a valuable ally but I can't honestly say that this combo will make it on to my list of favourites! Sorry! 😝 @leighmns @punkrawkpurl

@leighmns

@muzbanger thank you Maria!

@leighmns

@larissakalinka always appreciated Larissa!

@leighmns

@pavree thank you Phoebe! Glad you like it.

@leighmns

@jar_np haha Jen! Always enjoy your feedback. And your multi was really cool. Glad you're trying and hope to see more, but I definitely understand. Glad were keeping everyone on their toes!

@punkrawkpurl

@jar_np hahaha I promise you Jen, Matty is not next on the list. I am not that cruel. & I totally agree with you, in that abstract is the way to go with this one. I don't mind Kaimal at all, but Kodot is a hard one for me to embrace. Thanks for playing along, and as always for your feedback! xoxox

Have you been Multi-Exposing yourself? Tell us all about it... your experiences, tips, questions on the multi-ex feature. Here is what this week's Correspondent, Leigh Lukesh (@leighmns) had to say about Multi-Ex in conjunction with this combo: Shooting this combo with the Multi Exposure feature, I decided to throw caution to the wind and casually snap instead of trying to over think the final result. I tried looking at the geometric patterns of buildings and houses, finding some interesting shapes and angles. Shooting the first frame then rotating the camera for the 2nd exposure, I engaged the Jolly Rainbo 2X flash on the soft setting to add that bit of extra color where it was needed. Mostly working outdoors with a background of beautiful blue skies to play around with, Kaimal's soft, simple tones and Kodot's artsy border resulted in some cool abstract images. For this weeks combo please use:: #HipstaRoll_Week93 + #KaimalMarkII + #KodotXGrizzled & if you use a flash, tag that too. Shots using this combo + Multi Exposure please add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to the above tags. @punkrawkpurl

i see that my comments are still randomly disappearing. so I will repeat... Leigh, you must know how much I love this! simple, abstract geometric goodness.  I even love the grizzled kodot border on this. fabulous job with this one dear! @leighmns

Moving up the rainbow… we leave behind the sweetly yellow-hued Jimmy and usher in yet another member of the Standard Equipment Pak, the ruddy orange Kaimal. Similar to Jimmy, Kaimal keeps his focus sharp, however he is known for being pretty low on the totem pole of contrast. Staying in the Standard-Pak, we've decided to partner Kaimal up with standard film, Kodot XGrizzled, a totally neutral film… except for that gnarled up vintage effect white border. TIPS:: 1. If the low contrast of Kaimal is leaving you feeling dull and listless, fire up that Jolly ole Rainbo 2X to punch things up a bit 2. If you are like me, and not a fan of the grizzled border, aim for white or light subject matter to blend/hide the border. COOL POINTS to the first person who knows the original name of this film. It was changed 2 years ago with the release of Hipstamatic version 180. Please welcome back Hipstaroll Correspondent, Leigh Lukesh (@leighmns) Please tag this week's Combo:: #KaimalMarkII + #KodotXGrizzled #HipstaRoll_Week93 & if you use a flash, tag that too. May is for Moms… hip[stamatic] style Hipstaroll is teaming up with @wearejuxt to celebrate a very hip[stamatic] Mother's Day. This Sunday is Mother's Day… so put on your nice duds, brush your hair, pick some flowers and take lots of photos! Post your pure hipstamatic Mother's Day shots and tag them up with #hipstaroll_moms + #juxt_mothersday. You can use any lens and film combo you'd like as long as they are pure hipstamatic, (that means no edits). Don't forget to tell us what being a mom means to you or tell us about the special mom in your life. From Hipstaroll Correspondent and super mom, Leigh @leighmns: I gave birth to my babies just 2 days after Mother's Day in 2009, and although I had missed my first official Mommy's holiday, I had already considered myself to be a mother for the 38 weeks I carried them in my womb. Pregnancy was the easy part! I would never have imagined the myriad of emotions that I have experienced since that birth day. Instant love, fear, doubt, joy... and most importantly, acceptance. I accepted that there would be some mistakes made along the way, accepted that I would be the best Mommy that I could be, and accepted that parenthood would be a forever changing experience. My children have made me cry from happiness and cry from frustration! It's at that final moment of each day, tho, their minds slowly drifting off to dreamland, when they say "Mommy, I love you." I know I'm doing a good job. Photo credit @leighmns Lens: GSQUAD Film: D-Type Plate Flash: Off

@jar_np

Well, Jimmy is so hard, don't you think? That yellow can cause a disaster or it can elevate the ordinary. Used in just the right way, it can add a veil of gold to heighten the atmosphere or it can cut clear through the shot to create a golden sparkle. I thought it worked particularly well with green and yellow landscapes, especially ones with trees. And I also liked the abstracts! And sunsets too! Thanks to @punkrawkpurl and @stephdc for this week's Hipstaroll. 😍😘😍😘😍

So do tell… how are you getting on with the combo so far? Got any combo tips, a favorite flash perhaps? Let's discuss the #Jimmy + #Inas1969 combo, aka, #HipstaRoll_Week92. And don't forget to add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to your Multi Exposure shots. And to get us started, here is what this week's Hipstaroll Correspondent, Steph (@stephdc) had to say about the combo: Jimmy Jimmy, oh Jimmy Jimmy 🎶 (I think only very loyal Madonna fans will get that reference)! We are dusting you off, as well as some good ole Ina's 1969 & I couldn't be more thrilled. I shot sooooo many pics using this combo when the Hipstamatic app was first released! Of course, we didn't have very many combos to play with way back then! Ina's 1969 is a neutral film with a cardboard look border and rounded corners. Jimmy has a tendency to lighten things up & add a tinge of yellow to the photo. I have found that it sometimes turns blues into greens when not using a flash. It also brilliantly enhances yellows and reds in the scene. It's fun to add the color flashes to add extra oomph to the photo. I used Laser Lemon during a sunset to give the sky extra lemony goodness. I also tried Dreampop for a fun, retro light leak kind of look (as you can see in this photo). It totally reminded me of an old Polaroid. (please see the following comment for the remainder of Steph's write up) PLEASE NOTE:: • NEW photos please. we prefer you to get out and shoot, not add the tag to existing posts. Here is what this week's Correspondent, Steph (@stephdc) had to say about Multi-Ex in conjunction with this combo: I'm not going to lie... This pair is a toughie when shooting them using the multi-ex feature. Jimmy really picks up a lot of light in a normal situation, when you add the multi feature, the tendency towards overexposure goes way up. I highly recommend trying to find a low light situation or even a more overcast day to give this a whirl. I used trusty ole Jolly Rainbo 2X to tone down most of my multis that I shot outside on sunny days. It really helped a lot and even gave me some interesting colors. I also tried the multi feature on some night scenes (with some light sources of course) and found that it had some pretty cool results as well. Best of luck with this & I'm looking forward to seeing how this works out for you all. Let me know what you think. For this weeks combo please use:: #HipstaRoll_Week92 + #Jimmy + #Inas1969 & if you use a flash, tag that too. Shots using this combo + Multi Exposure please add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to the above tags. Hipstaroll is NOT a challenge. It is an ongoing project to encourage trying new Hipstamatic combinations. Through this, we hope to learn a little more about Hipstamatic, our own process, and even about one another's. Sharp (focus) as tack and oh so yellow… Jimmy casts a vintage glow that will brighten your day and POP your colors to the next level. Ina's 1969 is all about the retro border and letting Jimmy do his thang… no fancy filters or heavy FX with this lady! And what an iconic border it is, Ina's circa 1969 is the default film loaded up when we all opened Hipstamatic for the very first time. Awwww, the memories. TIPS:: 1. If you are new to night-shooting, Jimmy is a bright boy and a great low light lens to practice with (remember to keep your camera very steady for crisp clear night shots). 2. Want even more of a retro look? Fire up Dreampop flash and whoosh…. you'll feel like you just shook it like a polaroid picture. Please welcome back Hipstaroll Correspondent, Steph (@stephdc) Please tag this week's Combo:: #Jimmy + #Inas1969 #HipstaRoll_Week92 & if you use a flash, tag that too. Big thanks to our dynamic duo, Anna (@annacox) and David (@dnorphoto), aka Team Nike for immersing us in all things Nike this week. From Jane to John to Hornbecker… we served up the beloved Nike films 6 different ways in hopes to better understand them. Do tell... which was your favorite combo from this week? Which is your favorite of the two films? Do you prefer the mega contrast of AO DLX? Or do you sway more for AO BW's hearty grain? So lay it on us.... your praises, rants, raves... let's chat about this week's combos, #HipstaRoll_Week91_Nike: Films: #AODLX or #AOBW Lenses: #JohnS, #Jane, or #Hornbecker If you use a flash, tag that too. Week 91: combo 6 of 6 Film: AO BW Lens: Hornbecker Correspondent: Anna Cox (@annacox) Anna's thoughts on this combo: Mr. Hornbecker is like a blues singer when coupled with AOBW. He's unpredictable and funky every time. I really wanted to like him, and I tried but he blew my whites out too many times. I did find that when I sang with Mr. Hornbecker on a rainy day the results were much more detailed and moody. Of the three lenses, I found him to allow the most grain in the photos and in high contrast situations the photos almost feel flat. He does allow for some depth from black to white but it feels very abrupt. Overall, this isn't a combo I will use again but I enjoyed the challenge. This week tag shots using any combo from the following list of gear with #HipstaRoll_Week91_Nike: Films: #AODLX or #AOBW Lenses: #JohnS, #Jane, or #Hornbecker If you use a flash, tag that too. Multi Exposure: please add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to the above tags. Week 91: combo 5 of 6 Film: AO DLX Lens: Hornbecker Correspondent: David Norbut (@dnorphoto) David's thoughts on this combo: Remember the saying, " If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything"? That about sums up my experience with Hornbecker. Funny part is, I didn't even have Hornbecker. When the Nike Pak first landed I only downloaded the films. When I was assigned this combo I ended up buying one of the retro paks full of everything I already had except this cruel evil lens. If you like washed out unpredictable low contrast images...enjoy! I've already said too much! This week tag shots using any combo from the following list of gear with #HipstaRoll_Week91_Nike: Films: #AODLX or #AOBW Lenses: #JohnS, #Jane, or #Hornbecker If you use a flash, tag that too. @nickb519

@dnorphoto I agree I have not been a fan of the hornbecker myself, thou I have got a few good night shots with it. But it really is not the best lens, but as you tend to you got a good photo despite not liking the equipment.

@dnorphoto

@redlilith thanks, good luck with it!

@dnorphoto

@rachelwilde thanks Rachel.

@dnorphoto

@nickb519 thanks Nick. Night shots huh? I'll give it a whirl

@onomatopoetic

You can always try to use the JollyRainbo2x to get rid of hornbecker's overexposure. But maybe that counts as cheating? 😉 @dnorphoto

@nickb519

@dnorphoto yeah I have shot a few night shots of really low light and with it and they have come out ok. Also a few building exteriors at night. Again key is low light.

Week 91: combo 4 of 6 Film: AO BW Lens: John S Correspondent: Anna Cox (@annacox) Anna's thoughts on this combo: Well I am loathe to say that I actually enjoyed John S with AO BW. John and I broke up long ago when he made things a little less sharp than I would like with the other Nike film. That said, I have to say I put on my little black dress for him simply because he brings out the inky blacks that I love so much. Out of the three lenses, this was by far my favorite combo. John S seems to smooth a bit of the grain out of AO BW and adds the vignette around the edge of the frame. You may find John S a little too gritty for your taste and that's okay, we can't all like bad boys. Out of the three, John is the most heavy handed with the contrast leaving you with heavy shadows and middle tones without many bright whites. I looked for high contrast situations to bring out the crisp whites to balance his dark nature. Week 91: combo 3 of 6 Film: AO DLX Lens: John S Correspondent: David Norbut (@dnorphoto) David's thoughts on this combo: This is actually one of my favorite combos. I wanted to shoot with it the whole time I was on this assignment. Beautiful, rich contrast. But beware if you are photographing people. In order to capture a well lit subject, you must mind where the shadows fall. John S has a tendency to emphasize shadow and darkness. Week 91: combo 2 of 6 Film: AO BW Lens: Jane Correspondent: Anna Cox (@annacox) Anna's thoughts on this combo: Jane. Oh Jane. How we love your dependable nature with every film. You are like the girl who is always on time and without a hair out of place. You never stray one way or the other too far, your just too prim for that kind of nonsense. We can expect a close match to the actual scene with only the most dainty vignette in the corners. Jane is a girl for every season and coupled with AO BW she coaxes serene scenes with grayscale that is always lovely. This combo brings out highlights and contrast without being over the top. This week tag shots using any combo from the following list of gear with #HipstaRoll_Week91_Nike: Films: #AODLX or #AOBW Lenses: #JohnS, #Jane, or #Hornbecker If you use a flash, tag that too. Week 91: combo 1 of 6 Film: AO DLX Lens: Jane Correspondent: David Norbut (@dnorphoto) David's thoughts on this combo: This combo is a touch lighter in the contrast department as is the story when this film is paired with John S. I have rounded up two of the top BW shooters in the land to present 6 different Nike combos to you this week. Please welcome your Nike Team... David Norbut (@dnorphoto), representing AO DLX. And Anna Cox (@annacox), shooting AO BW. This week I am upping the number of tags allowed per person to 6 shots per single exposure (keeping it 3 per multi exposure). There isn't really a connection between Nike, Jane & John is there? I mean apart from the fact they look really good with the films?

Interesting. I saw Jane/AOBW and never looked back. Guess I have some more shooting to do.... 

@hipstaroll

@erik3003 Jane & John indeed are not Nike lenses. we wanted to show the films with a neutral lens, the classic Hipsta lens, and of course with they're family lens, Hornbecker.

@hipstaroll

@bethbikes yes.... keep shooting. 3 lenses this week. 😊

So do tell… how are you getting on with the combo so far? Got any combo tips, a favorite flash perhaps? Let's discuss the #LucasAB2 + #Sugar combo, aka, #HipstaRoll_Week90. And don't forget to add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to your Multi Exposure shots. And to get us started, here is what this week's Hipstaroll Correspondent, Rebecca Cornwell (@repinsk) had to say about the combo: Why do I always want to be what I'm not? Admittedly, this proved to be a challenging combo for me. Lucas AB2 has an amber tone I initially had a hard time loving. I found myself constantly trying to remove it from the image but once I embraced it, found that I could be more content with my results. In fact, for me, Hipstaroll has been about the process of learning to use each combos strengths or acknowledge that the combo has nothing you can use in my own work. I was determined to find redemption in the LucasAB/Sugar combo. I tried every flash and had the most satisfaction with JollyRainbo 2x (used here), which seems to pull out more of the dreaded amber hue. I noticed more clarity in a sunny outdoor shot but, overall I felt like my acceptance of what the combo was offering up left me most content with the image. I started to adore the warm vintage feel and the combo's ability for diversity. Will the combo become part of my "most used" repertoire? Not likely but I learned a valuable lesson: be what you are. @lucizoe

This was a challenging combo... And yes, full of surprises. At first I kept getting these washed out, sickly yellows that were not the expected nice amber tones. But then I accidentally left the JollyR flash on and ...wow! Huge difference! It IS a pleasing combo for flowers, as is evident in this lovely shot. I tried several sky shots at different times of the day, but could never come close to that pinky-blue sky I see in some of the shots this week. Hmmmmm...I remain intrigued with this combo...

@janeoako

Have you been Multi-Exposing yourself? Tell us all about it... your experiences, tips, questions on the multi-ex feature. Here is what this week's Correspondent, Rebecca Cornwell (@repinsk) had to say about Multi-Ex in conjunction with this combo: The multi: such a difficult assignment, but such a thrill when it works!! I found myself exploring multis a lot with this combo. I think at first as a way to try to overcome what I viewed as some of the combo's challenges. I also, for the first time, tried various flashes, using flash either with only the first or second shot but not both. I tried multi shots both indoors and outdoor and discovered in bright sunlight the read on both images was more ghostly, while indoors I could control the layering more. Unlike some combos with which I've tried to shoot multis, I found the Lucas/Sugar combo gave pretty equal value to both the first and second shots. I felt like these shots had a lot more interest and complexities than my straight shots with what proved to be a challenging combo for me. I shot this image of the crowd in front of me at a concert. It was during a time when I was first experimenting with the combo. Its very out of style for me but I loved it regardless. I encourage you to try the multi with this combo even if multis aren't your thing. Can't wait to see what you all come up with! For this weeks combo please use:: #HipstaRoll_Week90 + #LucasAB2 + #Sugar & if you use a flash, tag that too. Shots using this combo + Multi Exposure please add #Hipstaroll_MultiEx to the above tags. Hipstaroll is NOT a challenge. It is an ongoing project to encourage trying new Hipstamatic combinations. Through this, we hope to learn a little more about Hipstamatic, our own process, and even about one another's. Photo by Official Hipstaroll Correspondent, Rebecca Cornwell (@repinsk)

It's going to get hot around here this week! Or... maybe just a little bit warmer. It's been awhile since we have played with Lucas AB2. Lucas is quite the smooth operator with his amber golden glow, and soft focus. Sugar shakes it up with her irregular thin black border and just a wee hint o' blur hugging tight around the edge. TIP: Lucas loves a sunset and will really dish out his gold for one. Please welcome back Hipstaroll Correspondent, Rebecca Cornwell (@repinsk) Please tag this week's Combo:: #LucasAB2 #Sugar #HipstaRoll_Week90 & if you use a flash, tag that too.
