So the question for me is this: How do you correctly evaluate your feelings about your art when someone wants to pay you for it? That is, when all you have is your feeling and expression—and not the lure of compensation—it's easier to identify personal artistic output. But as you become sought after, the integral emotions in your art can become distorted. So, what habits, disciplines, tools, or identifiers can you use to sustain the artistic process throughout the commercialization of your work? Or must you avoid profiting from your art to maintain true expression?

Geof ( @slowjam98), well first things first... that was three questions. :) Here's what it comes down to for me: There are many ways to answer those questions. However, this is my personal response. If your determination, discipline, and dedication ends up creating a byproduct of monetary means, and/or fame, than so be it. The feeling I recieve when I believe I'm finished with creating something is a hard feeling to beat. Often, I look at what I make, laugh out loud and think to myself, "Did I really do that?" In the end, it's it's about the process. It's about becoming a better human being. It's about striving for goodness. It's about being okay with looking at yourself in the mirror. It's about the art. It's about the beauty and the emotional response from the piece one is goggling.

i really enjoy all of your art blake (and oh my, your photos also...) your medium here is so creative! i must try it myself- my oils are on the normal textured canvas, most based with gesso, some directly on the canvas itself. but both nice for landscapes
