We only get tourists; like the whales big birds come here to breed! They have a protected site on a military base and its off limits in season! I've never seen them😳 The albatross shots are also from a protected site but there is a trail there its a 6 mile hike. Amazing that they fly thousands of miles over water to get here!!! No birds of prey tho, they can't fly this far ... we do have a small owl on Kauai so I've heard! My next mainland trip will be to try and capture raptors. @hanagirl Aloha Stacy, forgot to ask what camera / lens are you shooting? I shouldn't have said u need at least 300mm I've seen lots of guys get really good moon shots with lots smaller lens! Thing is, once you get there you'll really want a 300 or 400mm lol... I suggest you do what i do, google your camera and read stuff, look at those free videos etc, then try doing what they suggest. If u did one experiment a week or learned one new thing you'll be light years ahead in just 6 mos!
