I left my English class for the third time in this past week today because my teacher insists on showing a Macbeth film permeated with profanity. It made me wonder: when did this become acceptable? I thought authorities were required and encouraged to enforce rules which discourage coarse language.
People tell me to become accustomed with swearing, but I have no desire to do so. Why should I voluntarily watch or engage in communication that is nothing but disrespectful and harmful? These words were created by man for the sole purpose of cursing God and that which is His glorious creation.
Words can be damaging. But you can choose to make them beautiful.

I was walking around school today and I was seriously shocked by how disrespectful people can be; not everyone of course, but many individuals simply don't care. And it made me think: do I care any more than they do? I began to ask myself why I do not make an effort to include those who always eat lunch in solitude. They need friends too, right? I questioned why I disregard certain adolescents because they are rude or annoying... they need friends too, right? I am tired of being afraid. I want people to know and believe that they are wanted... so why don't I do anything about it?

I miss those days. The days of childhood spent freely, not caring about the opinions of others. There was no need to worry about reputation- no one knew what that meant. We could play in the dirt and run around in dresses. We could lay in the grass and define pictures in the sky just because we wanted to. We were free.

If you were capable of performing one task without any possibility of failure, what would that one thing be?
I would illegalize abortion. For whether a child has the opportunity to experience this magnificent world, or die before even getting the chance, is not a fate that should be dependent upon one's choice. This activity was once considered savagery, and it is now described as a mere medical procedure. Despite the inappropriate classification proposed by the law, abortion is diabolical. Abortion ends the life of a child; abortion kills a being who is created in God's own image. This procedure is both predetermined and intentional; therefore, it ought to be accurately called what it is: murder.
I read an article yesterday about a proposition of "post-birth abortion", and the procedure that would occur if a child were to miraculously survive an abortion. I am utterly appalled at the fact that this is even up for consideration. Honestly, when did human beings begin to abort their brains?
If I was at the age that I am now, 17, yes. I would rather have an abortion and I would hate all of those narrow people who told me that I murdered a child. Because with my beliefs I don't. It is not an option that I'd be pleased with, but to be pregnant and then give away a child is even worse. If YOU don't want to have an abortion, then don't! But do not in any way try to tell me that what I want to do with my body is wrong, that I don't have the right to decide what to do with my. Own. Body! There HAVE to be a choice, otherwise there will be SO many living lives ruined. Even though it means that an unborn child will "die". You have no right, whatsoever, to tell me that I murdered a fetus with a thousend cells who COULD be a child. What about my life?

Why do we look for fulfillment from the world, when God is the only one who can fill the void in our hearts? Why do we hunger for relationships that are unpleasing to God's sight, when He has already chosen someone specifically for us- someone who will love us as He does? Why do we desire a status of notoriety, when it requires forfeiting our morals and beliefs? Have we so easily forgotten that His love encompasses all things? For how deep, how high, high long, and how wide is the love I Jesus Christ that He would lay down His life for us! His life was so incredibly beautiful; why do we not trust Him with our own?

We all bear scars; many of which we conceal from those who love us most. But we must realize that allowing ourselves to become vulnerable is an opportunity for growth not disgrace. For how much more beautiful things are after they have been remade.
A pile of broken glass cannot make itself into a masterpiece, but with the assistance of an artist a stain glass window can be fabricated. Once that design is complete light radiates through each unique piece shining different colours throughout its interior making it beautiful, and into the area around its exterior for all the world to see. Each design is uniquely crafted, and inspires, encourages and enlightens. That masterpiece could not be created without brokenness, but then again imperfection is true beauty.
There is much power in testimony. Our triumphs can inspire others, and our tribulations can teach lessons. Our perseverance and success can show others that there is hope.
We simply need to humble ourselves and understand that not everything is in our own control, and sharing our pain is what brings freedom. ( Inspired by @sofiesund )
